Brandy Clark showcases new music to a respectful London crowd!

For those that know me you will be aware that Brandy Clark is one of my favourite artists and songwriters. Therefore I go to every concert with a slightly biased view! I couldn’t wait to review last nights concert as after speaking to her a couple of weeks back, I knew she was going to be playing new material off her upcoming record. This was also the first time in a long time that Brandy would be playing with a full band as opposed to the last couple of times where she just played with Miles and Vanessa. I was keen to hear these songs we’ve come to know and love with percussion too. With support from Kyle Daniel it was set to be an interesting show. I didn’t know what to expect from Kyle Da

C2C Line up announcement: The highs and lows but are we just being spoilt brats?

Well the announcement takes time to sink in for some of us, especially when evaluating what it means for the festival which is in it’s eighth year, and what it means for Country music in the UK. The initial reaction from me last night was “oh…I’ve seen all of them before…most of them at a previous C2C” but is this just our spoilt brat phase, isn’t it good that we have artists wanting to return to the UK? In this article we’ll take a look at each artist and what we can expect but first of all lets address the bigger issue… repeat offenders and Country music in the UK! All day Monday I had my fingers crossed, muttering “Dolly, Kenny, Blake” even though I knew other commitments ruled out Blake

Charles Esten kicks off UK tour at The Bridgewater Hall!

Well Country Music Week is well and truly underway for me, it started on Saturday in Manchester at The Bridgewater Hall when The Adelaides opened up for Charles Esten. From what I’d heard of the girls in the past I will be honest, I wasn’t excited but I promised to give them a fair chance this time and I’m glad I did. Two well known country covers punctuated a mainly original set. My Church by Maren Morris sounded sublime with the girls harmonies whilst Kelsea Ballerini’s Miss Me More got the crowd bopping along. They had some well written original tracks in there, especially their final track Good Good Love which had some nice and easy crowd participation parts to it and everyone must have

Brandy Clark talks to us about new music and who she's been writing with ahead of her show at Co

One of my favourite artists and songwriters of all time is Brandy Clark, the grammy nominated Country writer is the greatest storyteller around, and I was overjoyed to hear that a new album was just around the corner. As part of Country music week, Brandy is coming to our shores to play just one show in London and I was keen to chat to her again ahead of that show. It was the third time we’d had the pleasure of chatting but there was loads to talk about, brandy has various projects on the go and it was exciting to hear more about them! Unfortunately a problem on the line cut our interview slightly short but we still managed to get lots of insight into what we can expect from the new record!
