Black Deer Day 3: Emphatic and energetic performances entertain Eridge Park!
Sunday began like the previous two days, the sun belting down on the festival site as the bands finished up their sound checks and the food stalls began cooking. After my previous two mac n cheese filled days I decided to have a change and my dad and I split the most delicious pizza! Thomas Wynn and The Believers were the first act on the main stage, they were nothing if not loud and energetic. The band was tight and well rehearsed and they looked pretty cool too! They were f

Black Deer Day 2: A foot stomping line up wows the crowds!
After little sleep, Saturday began the way Friday had ended… with a fabulous set from Sonia Leigh. As a very large crowd gathered and sunned themselves on the grass Sonia took to the Roadhouse stage which was now outdoors, many people had shades on, I’m not sure if that was to shield the sun or to hide the tired, hungover look in their eyes as many partied long into the night at the afterparties. Sonia’s acoustic set saw her play some of our favourites like Put It In Your Poc

Day 1 of Black Deer: Striking Matches and Sonia Leigh steal the show!
The opening day of the very first black deer festival went off without a hitch, even the sun put in an appearance! The vibe was perfect, not too crowded but enough people to fill out each stage and create a buzz! After tents were pitched and the field began to look more colourful we entered the arena ground. The food smelt good, there seemed to be something there for everyone including my favourite Mac n cheese! The afternoon began for us with Lauren Housley on the roadhouse

Buckle and Boots team up with Tamworth Music Festival in Australia for a unique opportunity!
5 lucky artists who will be appearing at this weekend's Buckle and Boots festival will be given the chance to perform at Australia's Buckle and Boots equivalent as the UK's most successful independent Country Festival teams up with Australia's biggest Country Festival! It was announced last week that Karl, Jan and Laura who started the festival three years ago have built a strong working relationship with the Australian festival to create opportunities for upcoming artists in

More updates from Eridge Park!
Tonight we have seen a first glimpse of the completed line up with a list of which artists are playing which stage although unfortunately we're not going to get set times until we get to the festival so there will be an element of last minute planning for fans to see the artists they want but that's part of the fun right? See below for the new poster.

Sonia Leigh and Friends Live in London!
Sonia Leigh’s career is something to be marvelled at. Her versatility as a songwriter is unrivalled and the hard work she puts in as an independent artist is reflected in the miles she travels and the amount of shows she does year in year out. But more than all of this Sonia is the kind of person who gets along with everybody, she can often be found at the end of a show sharing a smile and a pint with her fans and she’s always willing to help aspiring musicians as her work wi

Top Twenty Taylor Swift Tour Tricks!
When it comes to Taylor Swift I am unequivocally biased in her favour, without Taylor Swift, music in general may just have been background noise to me, in car entertainment at best but now my life revolves around music. Taylor Swift made me sit up and listen from that very first album and opened up a whole new World to explore. Without her, I wouldn’t have picked up a guitar, wrote songs or even started this website and begun presenting on the radio. Yes my life revolves aro

The Sound Lounge Stage!
The Sound Lounge Stage will take place on the Friday and Saturday evenings of the festival, June 22nd and 23rd, from 7pm to 10pm. It will spring to life on the Live Fire Stage, which by day hosts cooking masterclasses by a wide range of expert chefs. The line-up for the Sound Lounge Stage across the two evenings at Black Deer is curated by music journalist and broadcaster Paul Sexton, a patron of the Sound Lounge known for his work for national and international newspapers an

Taylor Swift wins the hearts of the Manchester crowd!
I queued to get into the Etihad Stadium with a sense of excitement and anticipation growing all around me. This would be my sixth time seeing American songstress Taylor Swift so you would think I’d know what to expect but as I said to my mum as we travelled there early in the hopes we’d get a glimpse of the star arriving, with Taylor, anything could happen. I even looked over head half expecting her to be winched down from a helicopter or something! And like in previous tours

The Shires bring the party to the Bridgewater Hall, Manchester!
The Shires have been making history within the UK for five years now! Yes it’s hard to believe but they’ve achieved so much in that time and now with their third album performing well particularly on radio they have embarked on a UK tour which draws to an end in just a few days time. I went along to the Manchester date at The Bridgewater Hall to see what all the fuss was about - most of the shows have been sold out. What I was met with was a high energy performance showcasing
