Buckle and Boots is back with an incredible international line up!

There’s just a month to go until one of the best independent Country festivals opens its gate for the fourth year. Buckle and Boots has always been the best place to catch homegrown talent but over the years we’ve also seen some fantastic US and even Australian acts grace the barn stage. This year though seems the most international year with top acts from Europe also heading to Stockport to entertain us for three days! Taking place a little earlier this year on May bank holiday there’s no excuse for not getting there to support the best upcoming acts from around the World and I’m here to talk you through the ones to watch!

Like in previous years if you’re looking to start the weekend off early then on the Thursday night there is a comedy night in the barn which usually ends in spontaneous artist sets as well, there’s also Country Karaoke. As not everyone can make it so soon it usually results in a rather intimate event which, wether you know anyone before hand or not, feels like having a few beers and a right good laugh with your mates! So who have we got throughout the rest of the weekend? Let’s have a look at our home grown talent first, The Adelaide’s have had quite the year with support slots on two Charles Esten tours and festival slots at Country 2 Country. Now the three girls from the midlands will play their country pop with their beautiful harmonies to the Manchester crowd before they head off to Nashville to play CMA Fest.

One of the organisers Gary Quinn has just released a new single, he along with the Hancock’s puts a lot of effort into making this festival the best that it can be so make sure you catch his set! Three of my favourite U.K. artists are returning to the barn again this year; The Southern Companion is doing so well recently which is good to see as he is the hardest working man on the scene right now, and talking of hard working, Katy Hurt returns again this year after a fantastic 2018 recording in Canada and festival slots at Black Deer and C2C, she is a true entertainer so she is a must when you are planning your schedule. Another brilliant female on the scene right now is Jade Helliwell, it’s been two years since that video of her singing with a busker in Leeds went viral and she has achieved a lot in that time, her powerful vocals will blow you away and her humour will no doubt shine through between songs.

The homegrown talent doesn’t stop there with more familiar names like Keshia Gill and Izzie Walsh on the line up two artists who wowed the audience last year. Who will be your favourite discovery this year? We also have artists from Europe joining us, The Martial hails from the Netherlands and has opened for the likes of Luke Combs and Ashley Campbell in the past. And from one side of the World to the other, we have some new faces from Australia joining us, now don’t forget two years ago Morgan Evans played his first U.K. show at Buckle and Boots, he was nervous and afraid of what we might make of him but the crowd loved him and look where he is now, experiencing regular chart success in the States. So what will the Stockport crowd make of Adam Eckersley and Brooke McClymont, the married couple who have enjoyed solo success and won awards for their vocals and songwriting abilities? Will they follow in Morgan Evans footsteps and go on to such great things?

Then we have our Americans who seem to consistently set the bar high for everybody else. The two top names come in the form of William Michael Morgan and Lewis Brice (the brother of Lee Brice). William is just 25 but is known for being an old soul within the genre. He experienced chart success with his debut single I Met a Girl written by Shane McAnally, Sam Hunt and Trevor Rosen which got to number 2 on the Billboard Country AirPlay chart. Meanwhile Lewis Brice has worked with lots of people within Country music from LoCash to his brother Lee and fellow Buckle and Boots performers American Young. He is known for his detailed story-telling lyrics and blend of Country, Southern Rock and a wee bit of RnB. With two incredible headliners like this coming across the pond to entertain us in the most authentic Country setting of all you’re going to want to book your spot for your tent or camper! Come on, have a beer with the Country family!
