Lauren Housley releases new single 'Stay Awake To Dream'

Americana singer-songwriter Lauren Housley has released the first single from her long awaited third album 'Girl From The North'. The songstress from Rotherham, lit up the Virtual Americana Festival last month. This latest record was written and recorded during Lockdown with Husband and longtime collaborator Thomas Dibb. She has once again released the 10-track album independently and it explores the themes of rediscovering ones self and getting back to your roots, something which was inspired by Housley's move back to her hometown. Dibbs comments “This new album from Lauren is a real step up in songwriting and story-telling. She is drawing on inspiration from her childhood: growing up in the working-class town of Rotherham, having big dreams and exploring the world through her art. I hope young girls and women can listen to Lauren’s story and find inspiration in it themselves.” The video for 'Stay Awake To Dream' is out now and was filmed at an abandoned airport just outside of Nashville. The song is already enjoying airplay on Bob Harris' show on BBC Radio 2. Harris has been a fan of Housley's for a long time, championing her music on his radio shows. 'Girl From The North' is due to be released April 23rd.
